There's just too much to say about him. We met on match.com. I figured I'd give it a try, what did I have to lose? I had 2 toddlers and definitely wasn't planning on meeting someone at a local bar. I'd have to actually go to the bar to meet someone and those outings were few and far between. I'm pretty sure none of my friends were going to take the initiative to set me up- and I don't blame them. Adam's photo and profile had caught my attention but I was never one to initiate anything... so I waited.. and waited.. and waited... and gave up. I could see that he had viewed my profile but he never said anything. I figured the Martial Status: Widow and # of Children Living @ Home: 2 section of my profile scared him away. I deactivated my profile for about a month and got back on after Mother's Day weekend 2010. FINALLY a message from A popped up in my inbox! We messaged back and forth for about 2 weeks before finally talking on the phone. 2-4 hour conversations at night while he was at work and after the kids were in bed. I'm not even sure how long this went on before he finally asked me out on a date. A day date. Yep- on a Friday afternoon. I figured maybe he had a "night date" already planned with someone else. Oh well- it as better than no date, right? Long story short our day date went so well he later called me and asked if I wanted to go out that night too... so we had our 1st and 2nd date in one day. We've been together ever since!
Adam was single, never been married and no kids when we met... it's obvious my situation is a hard one to take on, especially for someone coming from that squeaky clean, no baggage background. When I try to describe him to someone I always say "I never pictured there could be someone this perfect for me, the kids and our situation." He handles every aspect with grace, respect and maturity. I am lucky. WE are beyond lucky. His family is just as amazing as he and I am so lucky to be gaining them too. It's definitely the whole package and more. There's my little intro!
