On my birthday, August 5th, we took our parents and one of my brother-in-laws to Chart House for my birthday dinner. I had a onesie made in Will's size (remember in the last MM post I couldn't find anything in time to tell Patrick.) At this point we didn't know our due date, just that it would be sometime in March 2009. Since it was March and we are Irish, I thought this was fitting.

I had this onesie under Will's collared shirt so no one would see it right away.

Little did Grandpa know what was waiting under Will's shirt...
I took Will to the bathroom and removed his top layer to expose his breaking news. I took him back to the table and announced to everyone to check out Will's new shirt I bought him. I wish I had their reactions on film (usually I do record these things.) They couldn't believe it but were very excited for us!
Within the next few days we had a scheduled ultrasound to determine a due date. During the ultrasound the tech said, "you are due, let's see, March 17th." Patrick and I looked at each other and laughed. We already had a New Year's Eve baby, St. Patrick's day would be awesome! This made Will's shamrock onesie even more fitting.

I bet you will never forget that bday! Thanks for sharing, your onesie idea, it was cute! Aug 5th is my wedding anniversary :)
LOve how you announce things in such fun ways, great pictures I don't think I have ever seen them before.
Perfect! xoxo
You are so creative. Your kids are so lucky that you take so much time to think of all these neat things for them to look back on. Love the MM posts...
That's so adorable!
I love how Will is staring at your FIL in the last picture.
I love that last pic!!
So adorable, E!
Great story and fun memory. Thanks for sharing. I love surprises and I'm sure you're family loved yours!
I went to school with michelle t. I have been reading ur blog and u are really inspiring with your strength. I know people probably tell you that all the time but its true. I love how you are keeping your love story alive for your kids to hear about I think that is sooo important to know how great their daddy was and how much you loved each other. My mom died of cancer when i was 17 and i still ask why? Sometimes that question never gets answered and it sucks :( your babies are absolutely beautiful and im sure ur hubby would be so proud at how you are raising them and watching over them. Even though I dont know you I pray for you and ur little family that the Lord gives you the strength to get through each day :)
**chills all over**
