Night One

Tonight is officially our first night in our new home. Phew. That was a lot of work and it's not even close to being over yet.

I had the kids covered today and made sure they were well occupied and busy. They enjoyed breakfast at the bagel shop, a visit to the zoo, train rides, a trip the aquarium and finally dinner at Bubba Gumps before home for baths & bed. Maybe they will actually sleep in? Anything beats Reese's 5am wake up call this morning.

As I'm typing this, I'm thinking to myself how quiet it is up here. Our old house {weird!} was on the corner of a cul-de-sac so we often heard cars racing down the streets or motorcycles reving their enginges as they sped by our house. Both of the kids rooms were in the front of the house so I always worried it would wake them up. However, my new neighbor just started playing some sort of instrument, piano maybe, and I can hear it from here.. at 10:45 pm? That's not going to fly. Crap, I hope they don't find my blog once I introduce myself. I heard some were already googling me!? Although we just moved in today, I've met many of my neighbors and everyone seems to be super nice & helpful, so far! There are tons of kids, of all ages and hopefully will be even more once some of the other neighbors move in.

Off to bed, lots of unpacking to do this weekend.

More like just nosey....Word travels quickly. I'm going to be "that" girl who's husband died and is a "single mom." I can hear it now.

I hope the googlers do find this post. You have feelings too. But I have to admit, googling a new neighbor is something I would probably do. Maybe they think you are famous?

sounds like you DO have nosey neighbors, but don't worry about them! I'm glad the move went well. I hope the kids sleep in a little so you can rest.

Glad you got moved in. I'm sure it was stressful with two little ones. I'm hoping to be moving soon and by that time our second one will be here so I'm sure it will be a madhouse. But nice once you get settled.

Erynn,

Good to have you back!

Hope everything continues to go well with your new home.... The new neighbors may see you that way at first then they will get to know you a little more as we all have through your blog and see beyond that.

They will see the young, beautiful, strong, funny, creative, wonderful mom and person that you are:)

Good luck with all the unpacking! We have been in our new house for over a year and I still have stuff to hang etc... It never seems to end!

Congrats on your first night. I see it as a good thing your parents didn't spell your name the typical way. It might make it harder for those neighbors to google you.

That is funny they googled you. Hmm I don't even know most of my neighbors last names. I said a prayer for you in church today. Thinking of you moving, and starting a new chapter in your life and wishing you lots of happiness during the holidays and strength as Patricks one year in heaven approaches. Best of luck in your new home and I hope you meet some amazing new friends!

Erynn, Let them think and say what they wil. You know who and what you are :). No one or nothing will ever stop gossip, and gossip is usually an umssumption if an ignorant soul whom has to find fault (rather faukt is ther or not) in someone else to make themselve feel and/or look better. I loved your comment, Keep on being you :).

Erynn, my heart went out to you when I read this. I'm sure that the neighbors are shocked to learn of the tragedy that has befallen you and your family . . . I'd imagine that is what prompted them to look you up. It is always hard to believe that such terrible things can happen to good people (and certainly, none of us will ever understand why.)

May your new home be blessed and I hope that your little ones will be happy and healthy there. Praying for you!
