In honor of Father's Day, I wanted to share one of the Rooney boys' other passion in life, besides baseball.
Every year Bill and his boys would head to Colorado for about a 10 day elk bow hunt. Weeks leading up to departure, they boys would start growing out their beards and letting their hair run wild. I remember not letting Patrick kiss me after a certain point because his facial hair drove me nuts. I prefer the clean cut look and couldn't wait for this trip to be over to clean up his face. The boys even went to the extreme of buying hay, fake elk mannequins and practicing their archery in the backyard!
The 4 of them were the biggest movie quoting pranksters I knew. Together, they had all the fun in the world. I'll spare you the photo of Patrick mooning the camera and show you this one instead.
This year Colin and Sean plan on continuing the annual elk hunt.

I LOVE both pictures. The first one shows what a great bond they had, and the 2nd one shows their personality. Love how P's rocking the Blue Jay's hat!

Im so glad that they all did that. Something they will cherish forever!! And someday Will will go with them. That is if Mommy lets him ;) He'll be able to get a taste of his Dad through his uncles and all their silly traditions. Xoxo

I always look forward to your MM post. It is a great idea and something you can share with your kids when they are older. That is great that Patricks brothers are continuing the tradition this year. I hope they get a elk that will make the trophy books!!!
I am cracking up. How manly of them to grow all that facial hair! That is awesome that Sean and Colin are going to carry on the tradition. I cannot wait until they can take Will and share all their crazy traditions with him.

I am so glad that you're documenting all these memories. It seems like you have tons to share, and I'm sure the kiddies will be so grateful to be able to look back on them.
