After Patrick and I graduated he was played baseball at Pepperdine while I stayed home and got my real estate degree. He started all 4 years at 3rd base {and 1yr @ short}. These 4 years were fun but challenging because he was extremely busy with baseball and wasn't able to come home often. I went up for as many games as possible and even traveled out of state for several of them. One that sticks out the most was our trip to Minnesota. Pepperdine was playing in a tournament at the Metrodome so MIL & I flew out there for the weekend. It was freezing but not enough for snow, as I was hoping for. Patrick hitting a home run in the big league dome was our highlight of the weekend.
As college came to a wrap a lot of his teamates and friends started getting engaged. I knew he didn't want to get engaged while still in college. For some reason that just bothered him. Of course I was excited for the next step but never pressured him. I knew after nearly 5 years of dating it was coming, I just didn't know when...
